About Student Alumni Associates at Virginia Tech (SAA)

In the spirit of the University motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), the Student Alumni Associates of Virginia Tech (SAA) will serve as ambassadors to the Alumni community. SAA will support the programs of the Virginia Tech Division of Advancement and Alumni Relations, embodying the organization's four pillars—Spirit, Tradition, Leadership, and Service—through action and word. SAA shall produce and implement programming that increases student education and awareness of the programs and services of the Alumni Association, in turn bridging the gap between Virginia Tech students and alumni. The Student Alumni Associates is an official affiliate of Virginia Tech Alumni Engagement. In 1974, SAA was founded by the Alumni Association to assist with various alumni programs. SAA was organized to better orient undergraduates to the programs of Alumni Relations. Membership in SAA is extended to students at Virginia Tech who possess the interest, motivation, and leadership to promote the ideals of SAA and the Alumni Association. The SAA roster is comprised of individuals who are representative of the diversity of the Virginia Tech student body.
