About Student Council of Eleanor Roosevelt College (SCERC)
SCERC stands for the Student Council of Eleanor Roosevelt College (ERC). We are the primary representative body for the undergraduate students of ERC at the University of California, San Diego. We coordinate and fund events for ERC students such as Rock 'n' Roosevelt, MMW Blowout, and others. The additional events hosted by ERC student organizations are funded by your activity fees, which SCERC appropriates. We also have representatives on various campus-wide committees. If you are interested in being a part of SCERC, be on the lookout for applications usually in early fall and spring quarters and elections in spring quarter. MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to represent and support the ERC philosophy throughout UCSD: "To be educated in our world today means to understand one’s own history and cultural heritage and the history and thought of other major cultural traditions as well. All ERC undergraduates will include in their academic programs a series of general requirements designed to provide a broad, multi-cultural perspective. As graduates, they will carry with them a strong international orientation and understanding as well as expertise in their chosen academic disciplines."
