Studiengemeinschaft Darmstadt is one of the largest and most traditional distance learning institutes in Germany. Every year, around 60,000 distance learning students continue their education in more than 300 state-certified and recognized distance learning courses in the areas of school-leaving qualifications, languages, business, technology, IT and digital media, general education as well as creativity, personality and health. Since 2001, SGD has offered participants the opportunity to use the advantages of e-learning in addition to the study material on the SGD OnlineCampus. In addition, SGD's individual all-round service provides security and flexibility for distance learning in a wide variety of life situations. The company, which is part of the Klett Group, has already received several awards for its innovative ideas and service orientation, for example from the industry association Forum DistancE-Learning and the Initiative Mittelstand. Certifications in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 29990, TÜV Süd Service Quality and AZAV attest to SGD's high quality and service standards. Since it was founded in 1948 by Werner Kamprath, SGD has had over 1 million course participants. The pass rate of participants in state, public and internal examinations is over 90 percent.
