We are fourth generation faux bois concrete artisans, and along with my sons Adan and Cordero Cortes, we proudly continue a family legacy deeply rooted in Texas, tracing back to San Antonio circa 1924. Our family's connection to this exquisite craftsmanship began when the rustic artisan Dionisio Rodríguez, a true maestro, introduced this European sculpting artistry to the United States after learning it in Mexico City. He then passed down these intricate techniques to my father, Maximo Cortés, setting the stage for generations to come. Today, Adan, Cordero, and I diligently uphold this cherished family tradition, dedicated to crafting faux bois concrete sculptures that seamlessly blend into both intimate garden settings and expansive public art landscapes. Our commitment to preserving and evolving this art form continues to thrive, ensuring that the timeless beauty of faux bois remains alive and vibrant for generations to come.
