About Studio North

Studio North is a design practice shaped by experience. We care deeply about the experience of the spaces we design and bring a depth of experience in making projects happen. Our work is rooted in designing spaces, including homes, renovations, adaptive reuse, multifamily housing, interiors, installations, and cultural projects. Each project is an opportunity to explore ideas, challenge conventions, and create spaces that feel intentional and lasting. Since 2013, Studio North has been shaped by the creativity of its team. Ideas are refined through process, tested through making, and strengthened through engagement with clients, creative partners, and craftspeople. We have grown through shared expertise, experimentation, and a drive to push ideas further. Whether shaping a home, adapting an existing structure, or designing a public space, every decision is made with a focus on how it builds on what came before and enhances the experience of those who use it. Our involvement extends beyond design. We have worked in development, research, fabrication, and photography to bring projects to life, ensuring ideas are not only conceived but fully realized. A hands-on approach allows us to navigate the entire process, from concept and construction to storytelling and documentation. By embracing experimentation and adaptability, we bridge creative thinking with practical execution. Studio North is based in Calgary, with projects in the Bow Valley, across Canada, and as far as the Philippines. Our work has been featured in publications, talks, exhibitions, and research, and recognized through awards and competitions at national and international levels. These opportunities allow us to contribute to broader design conversations while refining our approach.
