Named after the German artist Blinky Palermo, the studio serves as a nexus for various artistic endeavors, including custom tattoo artistry, design consultancy, music production, book publishing, and collaborative art projects. Operating as a private, appointment-only studio, it offers clients an intimate and personalized experience, ensuring each project is approached with meticulous care and collaboration. Co-founder Sven Rayen, an accomplished illustrator and tattoo artist, specializes in fine line, single-needle, black and grey, and micro tattoos. His work is renowned for its precision, clarity, and emotional resonance. Sven's innovative geometric designs, inspired by 3D modeling polygons, have garnered international acclaim and contributed to the global popularity of fine line tattooing. Designer and cultural strategist Ticuta Racovita-Cordemans brings a wealth of experience in fashion and cultural management to the studio. Her expertise ensures that each project is grounded in thoughtful design and strategic insight, fostering a harmonious blend of aesthetics and purpose. Studio Palermo's multidisciplinary approach has led to the creation of acclaimed publications, such as "Micro Tattoos: The World's Top Fine line Tattoo Artists" (2023) and a subsequent volume on fine line tattoos released in 2024, both in collaboration with publisher Lannoo. The studio also operates Palermo Records, a label that showcases the musical talents of co-founder Han Swolfs (Hantrax), further exemplifying its commitment to diverse creative expressions.
