About Study association POLIS

POLIS is the study association for Organization Studies-students at Tilburg University. Study association POLIS was founded at May 3rd 1991 and has grown to an association of over 500 members over the past 22 years. By organizing both leisure and study-related activities, POLIS tries to connect its members with the study program. Students have to ability to become an active member of a committee within study association POLIS. Being member of a committee is not only a fun way to gain experience in the field of organization studies, but also a great way to facilitate personal development opportunities. The committees consist of students from different years within the program, which makes it possible to get to know new people. The activities organized by study association POLIS are broadly oriented. First, there are study-related activities like excursions, a study trip, a congress, workshops, and recruitment activities. Moreover, there are leisure activities. For example, one of the committees is responsible for parties in Café De Boekanier. Next to that, annual activities like a pub crawl, family day, and of course an introduction camp are organized. POLIS maintains the relation with the department of Organization Studies at Tilburg University, to which all the academic staff of the Organization Studies program is connected. Next to the department, POLIS has relations with several businesses, TABOR (alumni association), and other study associations to achieve more content and diversity to the association.
