About Stuyvesant Student Union

What is the SU? The Stuyvesant Student Union is Stuyvesant's student government, which works to bridge the gap between the student body and administration by working on policy change, events, and services for students. Caucuses Included in the overarching are four caucuses, one for each grade. In a school as large as Stuyvesant, each grade's ability to address the issues that most directly affect them is extremely vital; the Student Union ensures that every grade, thereby every student's, voice is heard. Departments The Student Union, through its seven departments and ever-growing team of diligent members, ensures that each and every project is thoroughly completed and cultivated. The Clubs & Pubs department helps improve and expand the variety of clubs students can immerse themselves in. The External Affairs department fosters partnerships with public officials and organizations and works closely with the Revenue Building department to receive sponsorships and benefits from local businesses. The Compliance, Safety and Security department makes sure there is a stable budget to fund clubs, events, and any other SU projects. Many of the departments work on improving conditions within Stuyvesant's walls: the School Leadership Team representatives work tirelessly to influence policy change for the well-being of students, the Communications department uses various methods of communication to create a well-informed student body and the IT department uses web development to create websites and apps to make life much easier for students.
