Imagine a world where manual laborers can thrive. At SUAY, we are dedicated to building such a world by becoming a globally recognized and trusted brand focused on a new economy that stands in solidarity with both the planet and its people. As a closed-loop recycling hub based in Los Angeles, SUAY is at the forefront of transforming the fashion industry by converting textile waste into valuable opportunities. By innovating in recycling, reuse, and repair, we are not only extending the life of garments but also making a meaningful economic impact in the lives of those involved in textile waste management. Since our inception in 2017, SUAY has: Diverted more than 3.7 million pounds of textiles from landfills, repurposing them into apparel and home goods. Extended the lifespan of over 2 million pounds of textiles through our dyeing and repair services. Created over 42 sustainable, green jobs that recognize and honor the essential skills and creativity required to tackle the textile waste crisis. Invested over $3.8 million in human-powered reuse and recycling efforts, paving the way for effective, impactful solutions. In July 2024, we launched an ambitious campaign to raise $2 million to build the recycling hub of the future in downtown Los Angeles. Our goal is to divert 80 million pounds of textiles from landfills by 2029 through SUAY's comprehensive circular solution. With the support of our community, we aim to fuel this community-centered, grassroots initiative that challenges industry norms often riddled with exploitation and abuse.
