About Successful Aging

Our aging successfully is greatly dependent upon maintaining satisfactory health via Medicare. A consequence of the Covid-19 Pandemic has been exposure of the increased inequity of some Medicare beneficiaries. Despite recent multiple resolutions condemning Medicare inequity, limited remedial action has emerged. Required is a strategy to convert these convictions into attainment via a new strategy of care in order to mitigate this inequity. We believe that limited access to primary care is the major etiology of this inequity impacting some Medicare beneficiaries residing in Health Professional Shortage Areas with a shortage of Primary Care Physicians. This motivates our strategy to expand their Medicare Primary Care workforce, thereby restoring their gateway to our nation’s healthcare system. Successful Aging Inc. (SA) is a 501(c)(3) Wisconsin corporation which aspires to promote equity for these Medicare beneficiaries via a new strategy of care facilitating their successful aging. We propose a strategy that features expanding Medicare primary care workforce by a nurse guided Medicare Neighborhood Clinic. This clinic would be the primary partner in a “REACH” ACO and serve as the infrastructure enabling nurse guided primary care.
