The Start Sugen Software was incorporated as a Private Limited company under the Indian Companies Act in May 2007 and started its operations from a small apartment in Kothrud, Pune. While we were excited about the opportunity that we saw within the market, we wanted to validate our proposition. The most important validation was to sign up clients who were willing to pay for our services! Within the first two months, it was very apparent that our proposition struck a chord with our clients. The next step as a services company was to then to address issues about space, capacity and security that are important for any client. Having worked with large organizations earlier it was relatively easy for us to put ourselves in our clients shoes and list the areas that would be critical to a services setup. Demonstration of Our Seriousness We created a short list of attributes that we would like to see in our new office and started the hunt for premises. After a short search we finalized on the space that we currently occupy at Aundh. The attributes which attracted us were (a) independent building (b) flexibility in organizing office space as per our convenience (c ) room for future expansion. Accordingly we commenced work on preparing the premises for occupation (it was really a bare shell at that time with no electrical wiring, network / telephone cabling, air-conditioning or furniture). We succeeded in commissioning the facility in a short period of 6 weeks and inaugurated our new office in mid-August 2007. The facilities include a dedicated data center, best in class network and phone cabling, spacious pantry and 24x7 security. The funding for the premises came through expanding our investor base. We have added to the infrastructure over a period of time and now have an on site diesel generator which insulates us from power shutdowns as well as technology components such as firewalls and a corporate VPN.
