Summa Communications sprouted from the disconnect between sales and PR KPIs in B2B tech. With a clear vision to bring the two together to maximize ROI, Summa Communications began as a consultancy for strategic storytelling that approaches public relations as a unifying force between sales, product, and hiring teams. Founder Maddie Summa began her career in B2B sales at Oracle and Anaplan before moving into startup public relations for 7 years. She worked in startup PR in the Bay Area and México prior to and throughout the Trump Administration. She also has over 22 years of childcare and human development experience, including special needs and ASD. A commitment to legacy-minded writing soon grew beyond corporate contexts. Inspired by her mother’s work as a college consultant supporting students with learning differences to find the best higher education fit, Summa began working in college essay consulting during COVID. This blended her love of precise storytelling with her love of working with kids. This experience also illuminated the need for succession planning, particularly with women-owned businesses, and she began working with women leaders to transfer the knowledge and power they’ve accrued in their careers.
