About Sunbreak Society
Serving the I/DD community of Oregon through behavioral and community living supports, provided by our knowledgeable and compassionate team of behavior support professionals, direct support staff and training team. About the name 'Sunbreak Society': The first part, “Sunbreak,” being a welcomed break from the often chaotic and tumultuous system that is arduous to navigate, frequently causing anxiety. We strive to reduce the stress by providing: • thoughtfully planned and curated pathways to access highly qualified, supported, and thoughtful DSP’s; • training to families and DSP’s beyond 'the minimum' required, and; • a wholistic approach to providing supports, knowing every family and person is uniquely different. Secondly, “Society,” comes from a conscious group of individuals who have dedicated their careers and come together in providing high-quality services that go beyond the mediocrity that has been set as acceptable and best-practice in the field of I/DD. This society sets out with the intention of proving: • that this community is worth investing in; • increasing access to the world around them and; • building a sense of belonging, no matter the historical context. When we humans have purpose and know our sense of belonging, we show up differently. Sunbreak Society understands this foundational principal and has developed systems, trainings, and care with this at the forefront. Services: Implement true Person-Centered plans with empowerment, increased sense of belonging and strength building; resulting in a solution driven approach that involves support to families, DSP’s, and the individual. Sustainable family-focused stabilization model for children and young adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities (I/DD), and dual diagnosis with high-risk behavioral needs who are in crisis, temporary lodging, in foster care, or awaiting out of home placement.
