Founded in 1997, the idea of SunGrubbies was established based on the premise of having to offer sun protection for those of us with fair skin, who also love to spend time outdoors, but don’t want to deal with skin damage after the fact. We love outdoor sports. Back when we started, sun protection meant hot, thick clothes and frumpy hats. Broad-spectrum sunscreen was still on the horizon as were UV sun protection clothes. Staying sun safe was not comfortable or attractive and that’s when SunGrubbies was born.
