About Sunshine Coast Business Council
Sunshine Coast Business Council (SCBC) is the leading business advocacy group dedicated to fostering long-term regional growth and prosperity on the Sunshine Coast. Independent and politically neutral, we work with all stakeholders to drive regional discussions and thought leadership through collaboration and research. Our focus is on economic prosperity, championing initiatives to boost the Sunshine Coast's economic growth and sustainability. We aim to create jobs across all sectors and age groups, with a special emphasis on youth and older Australians. Additionally, we advocate for regulatory and planning environments that foster business growth, attract new investments and retain current investors by ensuring competitiveness with other states. Providing our members with direct access to political leaders at all levels of government is another key priority, ensuring their voices are heard. Currently, our priorities include driving industry growth and economic expansion through transformative digital technologies (TDT), focusing on health, education and identifying 'next wave' opportunities. We are collaborating with SCC and industry groups to review the SCC Planning Scheme, balancing regional growth strategies with robust economic and lifestyle expectations while addressing future urban development. We also promote strategies to attract private and public investment, emphasising broader economic growth through public-private partnerships (PPPs). Furthermore, we advocate for the Sunshine Coast's top 5 Regional and State Election Priorities, encouraging members to unite and ‘speak with one voice’ to champion the region’s national value, growth potential, infrastructure needs and funding requirements. Join us in our mission to drive long-term regional growth and prosperity on the Sunshine Coast.
