We are Sunshine Starts and we are Yorktown Heights' premier childcare center. We offer full-time care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as before- and after- school care for children 5 years old through 10 years old. We are are a team of deeply committed to providing early childhood educators and administrators that every day, in every way, go out of our way to give our kids the best possible Sunshine Start in life! As education professionals, we know that parents expect their child’s teachers and day care staff to be dependable, qualified and trustworthy. The kids, however, just expect us to be fun, friendly and more than a little cool. Having watched hundreds of our kids move on to kindergarten, we know that the best results come from a delicate combination of fun, education and a nurturing approach to individual care. We take the care and education of your child extremely seriously but we also have fun doing it. We’re experts in the field and are dedicated to ensuring a high-quality education in a safe and secure learning environment. Our Mission Believing that play-based lessons foster a life-long love of education, we structure our programs to cultivate a fascination with learning while encouraging critical and creative thinking, independence and discovery. Every classroom is designed to integrate the curriculum into each age-appropriate lesson, preparing your child for success in grade school and beyond. Backed by more than a half-century of combined educational experience and education, our staff understands the unique challenges of each age group, therefore, we place specialized experts with each age group. Offering day care and early learning opportunities to children ranging from six weeks old to five years of age, we strive to be your child’s home away from home.
