About Sunstar Insurance Tennessee
Our history is really a tale of two agencies! FSB Insurance started in 1897 in downtown Jackson, TN operating as Caldwell, Hicks and McKinney. In 1988 the agency changed the name to Jackson Insurance Agency to better reflect the company’s growth within the community. Over the years many established agencies were merged into Jackson Insurance Agency. Some of those were Pope, Russell & Overall, Patton-Harris, Elkins Insurance, The McClamroch Company of Jackson, Clay and Gaddie Insurance, AMA Insurance and most recently Claiborne and Taylor Insurance in Murfreesboro, TN Simmons First Insurance began in 1977 in Humboldt, TN operating as the Hale-Herndon Insurance Agency. In 1981 the agency changed the name to Cornerstone Consolidated Insurance or CCI. As with FSB Insurance many agencies were merged into it. Some of those were RT McKelvey Agency, Thompson Insurance and Medina Insurance Agency. On September 1, 2017 FSB Insurance and Simmons First Insurance merged with Sunstar Insurance Group, LLC and operate as FSB Insurance in Jackson, Humboldt, McKenzie and Martin TN and as Claiborne and Taylor Insurance in Murfreesboro, TN. FSB Insurance has gone through a few name changes but has never changed our commitment to customers. Over the years, we have created strong ties to our customers and associates. The partnerships we have made allow us to deliver exceptional service at competitive prices. Our latest merger with Simmons First Insurance and becoming a division of Sunstar Insurance Group gives us the stability to last throughout the next century. As testament to our capable staff and financial strength, in 2003 and 2008 we successfully handled over 2,700 tornado claims causing in excess of $96,000,000 in property damage.
