About supermanoeuvre

supermanoeuvre is an international award-winning architecture and innovation practice that operates globally from Sydney and Canberra, Australia. Occupying the overlap between design and technology we combine extensive international architectural experience with material and fabrication innovation and advanced computational design and analysis processes. This enables us to deliver unique, culturally valuable and high performing projects that achieve significant material, labour and energy efficiencies achieved through high-resolution adaptation to each project’s unique social, cultural and ecological contexts. supermanoeuvre was one of six practices to represent Australia at the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale. Their projects and research have been exhibited internationally including at FRAC’s Archilab 09: Naturalising Architecture, New York's Storefront for Art and Architecture, the 2008 and 2010 Beijing Architecture Biennales. The partners have lectured on the firms work at the Architekturforum Zürich, the Architectural Association in London; Columbia and Princeton Universities and their writings on architectural theory have been published in recent books: ‘Fabricate 2014‘; ‘Scripting the Future’; ‘Contemporary Digital Architecture’; ‘Robotic Fabrication in Architecture, Art and Design 2014’; and periodicals such as ‘Log Journal for Architecture’ and ‘Architectural Review: Asia Pacific’. The practice’s design portfolio includes a research and innovation demonstration project in Zurich, Switzerland; a sustainable house in outback Australia; a revolutionary sustainable lighting system with Australian technology startup Organic Response; and a recently completed sculptural ‘periscope’ canopy that forms the gateway to a vibrant new public park in Sydney.
