About Support Action Centre

SUPPORT ACTION is a non-governmental, non-profit, politically independent international center in Stockholm, Sweden. The center aims to strengthen the capacity of democratic activists, actors and organisations in Sweden and elsewhere in the world through training, strategic support, advocacy, and awareness raising. It strives to strengthen the pillars of global positive peace. Support Action upholds the values of active non-violence, nondiscrimination, solidarity, and democracy. The center develops its engagement in a constructive dialogue with likeminded people who aim to shift roots of societal conflict namely poverty, inequality, unmet basic needs, social injustices and grievances, marginalization and segregation, unfair distribution of natural resources, human rights abuses, lack of freedoms, authoritarianism and corruption. What we want to bring into the field is broad experiences of working in conflict-torn milieus, employing bottom-up methods that are wholly permeated by interactive analysis and understanding as well as joint actions and solutions. Our team: Our team consists of experts in capacity building related to the fields of peace, development, media and journalism, culture and art. Team members have been working with various international organisations and institutions including the UN and EU. They combine multidisciplinary educational background with technical skills and culture sensitivity. By means of being dynamic facilitators, the SA experts focus on creating learning opportunities that support the empowerment process of the participants to achieve their own potential as human beings and, simultaneously, helping partners to generate solid development projects and programs, advocacy action plans, organisational development and alliance building.
