About Supported Start Infant Development
Supported Start's Developmental Coaching is based on decades of experience helping infants with their gross motor skills and utilizes customized activities geared toward a baby's individual age and stage. The coaching empowers parents by guiding them in how to effectively spend time with their baby through purposeful play. It is an individualized, no-stress way for you to learn how to best encourage your little one's motor skill development. From major milestones like rolling, sitting, crawling, and walking, to all the little achievements before and in between, you are supported as you support your baby. Supported Start's Developmental Coaching is virtual, providing access from any geographical location and allowing families to save precious time and energy by not having to leave their home. An additional advantage of this virtual model is that you receive the coaching in your own space, with your own toys and furniture set-up, learning how to get the most from the environment where you spend time with your baby. About Your Coach: Hi! I'm Katie Briggs, your Infant Development Coach! I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in physical therapy. After becoming a PT in 2000, I quickly narrowed my practice down to children, primarily infants. I have worked with hundreds (probably thousands, but I've never counted!) of parents and their babies, the primary focus being motor skill development. I'm also a mom (times two), a Certified Infant Massage Teacher, and Certified Labor Doula. Across all these roles, my greatest professional joy has been teaching and supporting babies' parents. Add this to years of experience helping infants learn motor skills, and infant development coaching for parents was a natural career shift! I focus my coaching on simple, fun, and individualized play ideas, and it makes a world of difference. Parents feel empowered and babies thrive!
