About Surf Life Saving Northern Territory

Surf Life Saving Northern Territory (SLSNT) is the peak coastal water safety, drowning prevention and rescue authority in the NT. Our movement is a part of the history, fabric and future of this country. It protects life, it saves life, it promotes life. We create a safe environment in and around our beaches, through patrols on, in and beyond the shore through education and training programs. SLSNT has three affiliated clubs, two in Darwin and one in Gove. They are the Darwin Surf Life Saving Club at Casuarina Beach, Gove Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club at Town Beach and Mindil Beach Surf Life Saving Club. There are around 500 active members between the three clubs that dedicate their time to keeping the beach user community safe. Our 24/7 Marine Search & Rescue Team, is manned by volunteers and utilises a fleet of rescue water craft to provide assistance in the greater Darwin region. SLSNT is a not-for-profit movement that exists only through community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship.
