Lead by president Jose Álvarez, Surgical Solutions' team has been working with neurosurgeons, orthopedic doctors and other healthcare professionals since 2003 –first as the BIOMET distributor, and later as an independent company representing multiple international products in Puerto Rico and many more in the Dominican Republic. By partnering with top companies, we give local doctors access to the best surgical equipment, operating room accessories for orthopedics, spine surgery, intra operative monitoring, bracing and blood management. Our collaboration with physicians has direct impact on each patient’s health and quality of life. Becoming an independent firm in 2010 was a milestone for Surgical Solutions as it allowed the company to design and execute a growth plan according to its potential. The plan provided for a successful transformation of company leadership, from the ‘employee mindset’ into the entrepreneurial spirit that already inspired them. This was instrumental for us because of the current market conditions —caused by the HealthCare changes in the US. Recently expanded operations in Dominican Republic, it was established in 2011, and already is growing to a rate that required creating a second office in Santiago, the country’s second largest city, with plans to open additional offices throughout the Republic. We understand our success is tied to our service philosophy and business model which is based on SERVICE without questions and no compromises. Finally, our goal-oriented team has been successful in exceeding industry standards by implementing strategic development plans and at the same time rigorously following the highest professional ethics guidelines established by FDA, AdvaMed Code, local governments and Surgical Solutions’ internal best practices.
