About Survivor's R Us Incorporated

Survivor’s R Us Incorporated was founded in March 2017 and is a Charity organisation and Benevolent institution that helps in the fight against domestic violence. We help Men, Women and Children by getting them into refuges to keep them safe; we also supply discount food, clothing, dignity bags and toys for families who have nothing or have lost everything. We do not discriminate on race, gender or sexual orientation; if you or someone you know needs help, we want to provide that help. The reason for being so passionate about helping those in domestic violence situations is because the founder of Survivor’s R Us is a survivor of domestic violence. We know how hard it is, and when children are involved it’s even harder, so our mission here is to help people get back on their feet, get them help where they need it, and to help them believe in themselves, that they can do anything they set their minds to, and that they are worth the effort. In life it never hurts to ask ‘are you okay?’ or ‘can I help?’, and at Survivor’s R Us our doors are always open and the kettle is always on. The team at Survivor’s R Us is made up of volunteers and people from the work for the dole program, working to fill their hourly quota. We decided to take on the work for the dole staff to train them here at Survivor’s R Us, so that they can gain skills and experience in a working environment thus hopefully, in the process, we can assist them in getting jobs. Thanks to the sewing and crafting activities that we run, we have handmade bags and gifts for sale with the profits going towards helping domestic violence victims.
