Susan Rose China Ltd specialises in producing giftware for corporate and retail clients with a strong emphasis on personalisation. Susan trained as a graphic designer at the Central School of Art and Design and started her career in ceramics by painting tiles but after 17 years in London a change was needed and Susan Rose China was born. Susan's love of china started from very humble beginnings in a garage with a hobby kiln, English Bone China from Stoke on Trent and a few ceramic prints. We have grown over time and now employ 7 staff over 2 sites ; a design office in Northamptonshire and workshop in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. In the early days Susan hand painted each piece of china. This proved very labour intensive so new technology was embraced and one of the first digital ceramic printers in the UK was purchased. With a reliable source of English Bone China using Susan’s own moulds we are now able to produce multiple pieces of china of a consistent quality and the business has grown. Retail orders are decorated in our workshop where we have two digital printers and four kilns. We produce 2 main ranges ; bespoke and personalised. The artwork for bespoke pieces is created to the individual client's requirements from start to finish whereas the personalised range takes a preset design and personalises it for the client. Susan has developed a design idea called ‘A mug full of History’ for her mugs. It allowed an organisation to encapsulate through words and images their corporate identity into a mug design. It has remains very successful and adaptable to different corporate environments. To date she has designed mugs for 100+ different schools and universities.
