About Sussex Contemporary Illustrators & Printmakers (SCIP)

SCIP is a fast growing and dynamic arts charity based on the south coast of England. From our home, The Crypt Gallery in Seaford we deliver free art workshops, youth clubs and create outstanding exhibitions. We are passionate about the arts and believe that access to creativity and culture can support the wellbeing and mental health of our whole community, help combat loneliness and develop confidence in young people. Our youth programme offers a SEND provision, and we support young people who struggle to access traditional school settings. Our focus in these sessions is on creative play, enjoying the process and removing the pressures of the outcome. We work with a wide range of contemporary artists, including some of the UK’s best-known illustrators and printmakers who we work with on a variety of commissions and exhibitions to extend the types of culture available in Sussex. Our gallery space is also available to hire for any artists and makers, and we pride ourselves in providing a supportive and positive experience while exhibiting at The Crypt Gallery.
