About Sussex Prisoners' Families CIO
Sussex Prisoners' Families was established in 2013. Previously a CIC, we set-up as a Charity (CIO) in 2023, we reach into the criminal courts, prisons and communities of Sussex to connect families to emotional support, practical advice and to each other. Our Court Family Support Service has trained staff, volunteers and interns engaging with defendants families in the all the criminal courts in Sussex. We also meet families in the HMP Lewes Visitors Centre and run support groups and drop in advice sessions for families across the county. Our outreach team meets families in the community and we have regular family events that bring people together to reduce isolation and build peer to peer support. Families can contact us directly or through our digital forum and chatroom.
