The Sutter family founded the company in 1858 in Switzerland, and has passed it along through 5 generations, with always only one man per generation in command. The production plant and the corporate offices are located in Borghetto Borbera in the Alessandria province, in the heart of North-Western Italy. The company operates in two markets The Consumer Division targets consumers of household cleaning products and is concentrated mostly in Italy. High Quality products provide quick and easy solutions to everyday domestic cleaning problems. The Consumer division products can be found mainly at supermarkets and local retailers. The Professional Division targets professional users such as industrial premises, hotels, restaurants, community centers, offices, schools, supermarkets, hospitals, industrial laundries, car washes, etc. Its products are sold solely through a wide network of distributors. Six wholly owned subsidiaries cover Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal and France) and South America (Argentina and Chile).
