About Svedice

Originally a part of Ericsson Microelectronics, the fab was spun out into an independent entity – Svedice AB – offering III-V foundry services to the general industry. Syntune was one of the key customers, building its advanced tunable laser solutions on Svedice’s established InP process blocks. In 2008, Syntune acquired a controlling stake in Svedice. Fab capabilities cover the full range of manufacturing processes required to build complex InP-based active optical components: III-V epitaxial growth (MOVPE), material characterization, lithography, etching, metallization, and testing. The facilities compromise 272 square meters (~3,000 sqft) of office space and approximately 6,000 square meters (~65,000 sqft) of clean room space, maintenance access, and storage areas related to the wafer fab.
