About Swinburne Student Union

You came to Swinburne for a degree. Our mission is to help you leave with so much more. We place student success at the heart of Swinburne, guiding students to not only unlock their academic potential, but make memories and relationships that will last a lifetime. In 2020 we’re working to strengthen educational outcomes, cultural experiences & student representation so we can continue to make the student experience at Swinburne so much more than a degree. STUDENT REPRESENTATION Swinburne Student Union is run by a group of elected student representatives, supported by an amazing staff team. The student representatives work to ensure the voice of the students is heard by the university. They actively collect feedback from students, attend university meetings, plan campaigns, run events and so much more. STUDENT SUPPORT As an organisation run by students, we understand better than anyone the difficulties of a modern student. We provide numerous support services including: FOR ALL STUDENTS Free daily breakfast every day of classes Free yearly diary with Swinburne specific dates and information Free event nights in the campus bar (Hammer & Swine) Free exam supplies through our Exam Help Stall Free study snacks through our Welfare on Wheels Program Free Swine, our student run magazine FOR FINANCIAL MEMBERS Free $1.80 daily printing credit Weekly e-newsletter so you can stay up to date on all things Swinburne Cheaper locker hire Cheaper drinks in the Hammer & Swine Regular giveaways and competitions Outside of our regular support services, we also run events and workshops throughout the year on topics such as mental health, financial literacy and sexual health. If there’s something you’d like to see a workshop on please let us know! We’re always open to direct feedback from our student cohort.
