About Swiss Climate Foundation
The Swiss Climate Foundation supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) whose actions help protect our climate. Any company with up to 250 employees in Switzerland and/or Liechtenstein is invited to apply for funding. The Foundation funds projects in three areas as follows: - Measures to improve energy efficiency in the company - Innovative climate-protection solutions - Goals agreed voluntarily with the government by the energy agency of the economy (Energieagentur der Wirtschaft, EnAW) or with Cleantech Agency Switzerland (act) Since June 2017, the Swiss Climate Foundation has also been promoting the rejuvenation of forests that are difficult to access. The aim is to prevent the forests from overaging, becoming unstable and turning into a CO2 source should they die. The Foundation is working together on the forest programme with WaldSchweiz and the Konferenz der Kantonsförster (Conference of Cantonal Foresters). The Foundation is a partnership of renowned service providers based in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, including banks, insurance companies and consultancies. Their commitment is a voluntary initiative by business for business, by large firms for small firms. Being service providers and therefore low energy users with low carbon emissions, these firms are refunded more of the payroll-based CO2 incentive tax than they pay in.
