Syllart Records is an independent label African music and Afro -Latin based in Paris and founded in 1981 by Ibrahima Sylla.Indépendant and still active for over 30 years , it offers one of the most extensive catalog of African music industry musical . Its role is instrumental in the launch and popularization of musical genres such as soukous , mbalax and zouk including Mandingo . It contributes to the success of a new African popular music both in Africa and to the Western audience . Historically based in the 18th arrondissement of Paris where you can find a community of African musicians , the label also helps to mixtures of genres and circulations of African popular music between Africa and its diasporas worldwide. Parallel Syllart initiates the formation of new groups are emerging as the holders of a pan-African music in which ideas of miscegenation and dynamic heritage are subtly combined concepts. The " Africando " group has been established in 1993 and continues today to promote the richness of African languages which gives the flavor and uniqueness of this pan-African salsa. It is also the group of Congolese rumba " Kékélé " and the Mandingo project " Mandékalou " the label formed for both transmit and renew the ancient musical traditions. In 30 years, the Syllart productions amounted to more than a thousand albums and enabled the discovery of a large number of African artists on the international scene ( Ismael Lô , Salif Keita, Youssou N'Dour, Sékouba Bambino , Babaa Maal .) But the label has also been able to make a coherent work of research, conservation and promotion of the musical heritage of African independence whose creative abundance reflects a history of the "golden age" and its legacies modern in Mali , Guinea, in the two Congo, Senegal, Benin and Cote d' Ivoire
