Synergy Mouldworks is a full-service manufacturer of custom plastic injection moulds, serving the food and beverage, cap and closure, medical, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and automotive industries. Cory Robertson has always believed that a cohesive team working closely together is greater than the sum of its individual parts. In 2011, the mould making company Robertson was employed by encountered financial troubles and was ultimately forced into receivership. Amidst the chaos and insecurity of the entire organization facing unemployment, Cory took the biggest risk of his professional career - leveraging everything to buy the assets, revive, and transform the organization’s business model. With the support and commitment of many former colleagues, the team focused on growth by putting its customers at the heart of every project. In 2011 Synergy’s core team was just five people with annual sales of $224,000. Following an intense focus on rebuilding industry relationships, establishing new and profitable partnerships, that team has grown to 12 employees with an average growth rate is 45% year-over-year. Over the past seven years, Synergy has made over 1.8 million dollars in capital investments and expanded their services to include a larger range of injection moulding capabilities and sub-assembly/value-added services. Additionally, in a strategic effort to remain buoyant, Synergy has diversified far beyond a focus on automotive consumers, which has empowered the company to flourish despite economic conditions. As a result, Synergy now shares that success with their team via lucrative profit-sharing options.
