About Systems Change Studio

Our studio works with bioregions around the world to support storytelling and community activation through a shared process of narrative development and participatory design. So far, we've confirmed projects in South Africa’s Waterberg Bioregion, a forest island system in Japan, and a watershed initiative in Central America. In each location, we’ll work alongside local teams already restoring ecosystems, reviving cultural practices, and building regenerative local economies. Our work has two core components. First, we’ll co-create a short film with a local facilitator and community members—centered in local voices, told in the local language, and gifted back to the community. The tone will be quiet, grounded, and observational. Second, we’ll host a participatory workshop designed to develop a shared vision for the bioregion. Led by a local facilitator, the workshop will use visual tools and systems frameworks to identify key leverage points for change. Each story will be added to an interactive map that visualizes relationships between people, projects, and ecosystems. This allows others to explore the bioregional narrative and see how these efforts contribute to a larger story of planetary regeneration. This work is about weaving into what’s already alive—offering tools, visibility, and stories that help it grow.
