About the Gym T.A.G. Muay Thai is the premier Thai boxing gym in Northern Virginia. We teach students of all ages and skill levels in a fun and safe environment using a structured curriculum focused on continual improvement. In 2006, Chris established T.A.G. Muay Thai with the support of his trainer and with the blessing of the Thai Boxing Association president ⎯ Grand Master Surachai Sirisute, the first person to bring Muay Thai into the U.S.A. in 1968. About the Gym’s Owner and Head Instructor Kru Chris runs T.A.G. Muay Thai in the evenings and works full time in a high-profile protective role for the U.S. government. He is currently stationed at the government’s Law Enforcement Training Facility in Maryland, working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Hand-to-Hand Combat, Police Tactics and protection for recruits aspiring to be police officers and special agents. “Kru” is a title a Muay Thai fighter earns through related organizations such as the World Thai Boxing Association (WTBA). In Thai, “Kru” means teacher or instructor. Kru Chris is a student, instructor and fighter of professional Muay Thai champion Ajarn Bryan “Double Dose” Dobler in California.
