Passionate about ping pong, table tennis tables and design, here at T3 we’ve really turned the tables around. From our base in Farringdon, London, we’ve been beavering away to turn the triples ping pong table into a reality. The game of triples itself was invented back in ‘79. Since 2009, and following the publication of the ‘Triples Book’ by its inventor, Professor Gunter Arndt, Triples Table Tennis has been played regularly on prototype tables in his club in Australia, where annual Triples competitions are held. The official triples ping pong table was then created in 2012 under the direction of T3’s technical director who has been involved in table design for over a decade and registered by T3 along with the original game patent. The table was unveiled at the London Olympic games legacy event – ‘Give it a Go’, at Parliament Fields on the 8th September 2013. It was an instant hit, voted ‘the most popular sport of the day’ by the visitors. Don’t forget it’s not just about 3x the fun, our triples tables can accommodate as many as 12 players at a time (6-aside). Triples is fast becoming the new kid on the ping pong block. It’s faster and fiercer and offers players a wider range of shot directions and lengths than the conventional game, making room for some pretty spectacular rallies…
