About TAASK Courses

TAASK: Team training in Anesthetic Acute Situations and Crises. Standardized course plans and material for running advanced anesthesia and intensive-care simulation courses both in-situ and at sim. centers. Courses are aimed at anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, op-nurses, ODAs and auxiliary nurses. TAASK Masterclass. 3 day course for specialists, trainees and nurse anesthetists/ODAs. Leadership, communication and technical skills are improved by taking part in and observing simulated crisis situations. TAASK Express. 1 day in-situ course for whole anesthesia and operation teams. Two or three single-day courses held at host facility during one week. Always some external faculty, external participants can be registered via our web portal if desired. Since the first TAASK Masterclass in 2013, over 70 courses have been run and been attended by more than 1000 participants. TAASK Masterclass is consequently one of the most popular courses in Sweden and is part of most registrars' training. Generally, 25% of the anesthesiologists who attend are specialists, who often find this to be one of the few formal opportunities to improve their CRM skills while receiving an update in essential acute anesthesiology. Most of our courses are presently run by the Swedish Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. TAASK Express courses are hosted by local departments and usually held in-situ.
