About Taking Shape Association

Taking Shape Association is a grassroots community organisation that helps young people build confidence, resilience and self-belief through movement, creativity and emotional support. Founded in 2013 by martial artist Kevin Stuart, we deliver youth and community programmes that build confidence, resilience and self-belief — combining martial arts, personal development and real-world experience in safe, inclusive spaces. Our work supports young people who may be at risk of exclusion, violence or social disengagement, often without strong role models or support networks. Through a blend of physical and emotional learning, we help them grow into stronger, more connected versions of themselves. We run projects across schools, communities and holiday programmes in London and Liverpool, working in areas such as: • youth empowerment • mental health and wellbeing • employability and leadership • women’s confidence and self-defence • SEND inclusion • rehabilitation and reintegration We also create pathways into creative industries like film and performance — opening up new possibilities and reshaping what young people believe is possible for their future. 🤝 Open to partnerships, funding and collaboration 📩 Get in touch to learn how we can work together
