About Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens)

Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens) is a non-profit organization that focuses on establishing children's libraries in remote areas of Eastern Indonesia. The objective is to nurture by providing access to good quality children story books. Each library has at least 1,000 – 3,000 titles of children’s books. Founded in 2009, Taman Bacaan Pelangi (Rainbow Reading Gardens) has established over 100 child-friendly libraries across 18 islands in Eastern Indonesia. With the support of volunteers and donors from around the world, NGOs and respected corporations, Rainbow Reading Gardens has grown from a way to give back, to a way of life. There are many ways to support Rainbow Reading Gardens, to continue creating impacts in the education in East Indonesia. You and your friends can come together to adopt a library and cover it’s operational costs. Rainbow Reading Rainbows also encourage people to visit the libraries and volunteer as English teachers, renovate libraries, or delivering books. Not only that you can also help by helping them by participating at their annual book drive and raise funds to enable them establish more libraries in Eastern Indonesia. By cultivating a reading habit to the children in Eastern Indonesia, they hope to broaden their mind and introduce them to a world full of opportunity that they can also take part in.
