About Tap Social Movement
Founded in 2016, Oxford-based Tap Social Movement is an independent social enterprise, brewery, bakery, and hospitality organisation that provides training and employment for people in prison and prison leavers. To date we have created more than 95,000 hours of paid, meaningful employment for leavers, and today roughly 1/3 of our team across the company has come into contact with the UK's criminal justice system. Tap Social was named 'Consumer Facing Social Enterprise of the Year' at the nationwide UK Social Enterprise Awards 2024, and 'Business of the Year' at the 2024 Oxfordshire Business Awards, where co-founder Amy Taylor was also named 'Young Business Person of the Year.' Among other recognitions, we also earned the 'Empowering People' award at the 2024 SIBA Business Awards. We brew a range of modern, accessible beer highlighted by our multi award-winning core range, and run four vibrant Oxfordshire community venues. Our flagship taproom is consistently rated by TripAdvisor as Oxford's leading nightlife destination, and The Telegraph Food named Proof Social Bakehouse as one of the 13 best bakeries in Britain. Our bar and community cafe, The Market Tap, is located in the heart of Oxford's historic Covered Market, and we run the signature full-service bar at Lock29, an exciting space along Banbury's regenerated canal side.
