Tapestry Counselling & Consulting holds space for people so they can be more whole, healthy and connected. Individual and group counselling center primarily on mothers navigating the perinatal season of their lives (pre/post- natal) and young adult women. The common thread is women navigating life changes that invite them into indentity work as they re-orient themselves. Rachel has done existensive training on matrescence: a developmental understanding of the many ways a mother changes throughout her mothering journey (cognitively, emotionally, spiritually, physically, vocationally, etc.). Therapeutic approaches: - Somatic/body-based (movement, breathwork & EFT (tapping)) - Land-based (forest walks, neighbourhood walks) - Spiritually-integrated (support for meaning-making) - IFS (Internal Family Systems- specifically MotherCentered Lens) - CBT (Cognitive Behvaioural Therapy) - Trauma-Informed - Matrescence-Informed Group therapy is also offered through Wholehearted Mothering series (on topics like: matrescence, preparing for parenthood, managing anxiety and spiritual practices). Rachel is passionate about creating safe and supportive spaces for staff to bring their whole selves, to deepen their self awareness, to deepen trust with their teams and develop/build on skills for to manage their wellbeing.
