About Tarifverbund OSTWIND

Seit dem 1. Juni 2009 ist auf dem ganzen Gebiet des Tarifverbunds der sogenannte Zonentarif gültig. Reisende kaufen seither nicht mehr Billette von Ort zu Ort, sondern die zwischen und einschliesslich Abfahrts- und Zielort durchfahrenen Zonen. Innerhalb der Zonen ist das Billett auf Bahn und Bus gültig. Der Tarifverbund OSTWIND ist der flächenmässig grösste Tarifverbund der Schweiz. Er bietet ein einfaches Zonentarif-System für Fahrten in der March (Teil des Kantons Schwyz; Zonen 997, 998, 999) und in den Kantonen St.Gallen, Thurgau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden und Appenzell Innerrhoden, Glarus, Schaffhausen und Fürstentum Liechtenstein. Mit einem OSTWIND-Fahrausweis reisen Sie innerhalb der gewählten Zonen und der zeitlichen Gültigkeit mit allen öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln – wohin und so oft Sie wollen. Im OSTWIND-Gebiet sind 30 Transportunternehmen mit einem Streckennetz von rund 4'000 km unter einem gemeinsamen Preissystem vereinigt. Der Tarifverbund OSTWIND wird durch eine eigenständige Geschäftsstelle verwaltet.
