Taylor Solar Ltd is unique in its structure, in that it brings the expertise of two industry leaders in roofing and solar pv together. A perfect partnership between Jamie Taylor, the owner of leading roofing company Taylor Roofs, plus the solar and renewable energy knowledge of Michael Hale. Taylor Solar was created with three distinct goals: 1. Improve the standard of solar panel and battery installations across the Central Belt in Scotland. 2. Utilise breakthrough technology for the benefit of our customers. 3. Help our customers cut their energy bills. Jamie, along with his wife Kelly, own and run Taylor Roofs, which has become one of Scotland’s largest and most reliable roofing companies for homeowners , for over a decade. Taylor Roofs have installed thousands of new roofs in this time, with many having solar panels installed at a later date by other Solar Installers, sometimes causing leaks and other problems with the integrity of the previously installed roof. This truly went against Jamies focus for quality and his drive for customer satisfaction, and he was keen to come up with a way to resolve this issue – to marry together roofing and solar. Michael has worked in renewable energy, with a particular interest in solar and battery technology for 11 years. He was concerned at the lack of roofing expertise in many solar companies’ offering and was keen to work with Taylor Roofs to improve this. Put simply, you don’t want a roofer working on your fuse board, and you don’t want an electrician keeping your roof watertight! We wanted to work together to utilise our joint expertise to make sure each installation was technically specified for the homeowners needs, while ensuring a professional roofer installs every aspect of the roofing work. And so Taylor Solar Limited was born!
