TEA Sistemi is a spin-off company of the University of Pisa established in 1989 as a Research Centre and in 1997 as an independent company. The company is organized in the following departments: Process Engineering, Environmental Studies, Safety and Risk Analysis, Process Equipment and Instrumentation. The R&D activities of the company count on a department for the Intellectual Property Right protection and three dedicated units: Software Development, Information Technology/Robotics and Computational Fluid Mechanics. The experimental activities make use of the Multiphase Flow Laboratory of the Company. This Laboratory allows the experimental tests to be carried out very close to field conditions in terms of flow rates, type of fluid and operative pressure. The company experience on physical modelling coupled with the use of 3D models allow to simulate and predict the behaviour of complex systems as well as to evaluate energy performances of components or processes. Concerning the ICT sector, the company is active in creating integrated sytems stating from monitoring (environmental and insutrial process, also UAV-based and Wireless Sensors Network), data storage and management (GeoDB, RDBMS), up to advanced statistical and numerical modeling and software development.
