About Teach My Kid to Read
Teach My Kid to Read (TMKTR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit transforming libraries into powerful engines for literacy. We bridge the literacy gap by empowering librarians, educators, and caregivers with evidence-based training, resources, and support grounded in the science of reading. Through our dynamic Literacy @Your Library online community and on-the-ground partnerships, TMKTR helps libraries across the U.S. and Canada create inclusive literacy hubs, expand access to decodable books, and implement effective early reading practices. Since 2019, we’ve impacted over 1,250 libraries across 40 states and 2 Canadian provinces—reaching hundreds of thousands of young readers. We believe every child has the ability to learn to read—and every community deserves the tools to make that possible. Join us as we build a sustainable literacy ecosystem, one library at a time.
