About Tell Your Story Afraid

I was scared to share my story. I'm still scared... But I don't have a choice because God has given me a new assignment. I'll share deep stories about myself and encourage others to do the same. Again, I didn’t get to where I am on my own. Aside from the grace of God, which is the number one factor, the love, support, and prayers of my family and beautiful sisters and friends, I have drawn inspiration from people sharing their stories worldwide, especially on days when I am at my weakest. I’ve drawn inspiration from Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Viola Davis, Tyler Perry, Maya Angelou, Ibukun Awosika, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Sarah Jakes Roberts and others. We all need inspiration and motivation at some point in our lives. This helps us to keep going. I want to help others with my story, too. Tell Your Story Afraid (TYSA) aims to be the No. 1 Digital Storytelling Platform for Black African Women worldwide. I am passionate about empowering Black African women to use their voices to tell their stories despite fear and contribute to improving society. Stories of emotional and verbal abuse, domestic violence, mental health struggles, childhood trauma, relationship with parents, issues with romantic relationships, friendships, African parenting, Adulthood, being a firstborn daughter, societal expectations for women, black immigrant matters, racism, discrimination, being a self-funded student, and life in general.
