About Temple Pre-Law Society (PLS)
The Temple Pre-Law Society (PLS) is an undergraduate student organization at Temple University dedicated to engaging students in the legal field through various initiatives including networking events, guest lectures, law school application workshops, LSAT preparation sessions, and informational panels about law school. The organization aims to aid students in enriching their understanding of the legal profession and establishing meaningful connections for their future endeavors. Pre-law students and individuals interested in the legal industry are encouraged to join. Previously, PLS has organized events aimed at providing educational opportunities to Temple undergraduates. The organization’s focus has been on establishing PLS as a dependable and accessible resource for students interested in law school. Adhering to the organization’s objectives, PLS has successfully hosted information sessions with guest speakers from various law schools, including Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Boston University School of Law, Fordham University School of Law, George Washington University Law School, and UPenn Carey Law School. PLS has also hosted sessions where students had the opportunity to meet with a diverse panel of attorneys who were transparent, candid, and open about their legal careers. Likewise, PLS recently collaborated with the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), the Political Science Department, and the Joyce K. Salzburg Center for Professional Development to present the Law School Unpacked event, providing prospective students with valuable insights from current law students, graduates, and admissions officers. Importantly, PLS proudly maintains a partnership with Temple University Beasley School of Law, hosting open house events and information sessions for undergraduates on an annual basis.
