About Tennessee Alliance for Economic Mobility
One of the nation’s largest benefits cliff demonstrations, the Tennessee Alliance for Economic Mobility (TAEM) is a coalition of 30+ organizations working to transform Tennessee’s safety net and promote economic mobility for low-income families. Serving 16 Middle Tennessee counties, TAEM leads the Our Chance TN initiative which integrates an innovative transitional benefit with coaching, financial counseling, and other resources for families pursuing self-sufficiency. Led by the Martha O’Bryan Center, TAEM collaborates with community, faith-based, and government partners to create lasting economic solutions. Our Chance TN is a part of a study funded by the Tennessee Department of Human Services which is being conducted to determine how these pilot programs help people improve their economic well-being. During the study, all new eligible applicants will be randomly selected into one of two/three groups that receive a different mix of program services.
