About Tensio by Canam
Tensio is an intelligent, IoT-based preventive maintenance solution for roofs that uses smart sensors to provide organizations with precise insights into when maintenance is needed. Tensio offers two types of sensors: snow sensors and roof drain sensors. Snow sensors, installed on steel structures in building ceilings, measure the real-time strain on the steel caused by the weight of snow, water, and ice on the roof. The data is sent to the Tensio software and cross-referenced with weather forecasts. Preventive alerts are sent to users as soon as a sensor approaches its predefined limit. Roof drain sensors, installed at the edge of drains, calculate the water level in the drains at various times to determine if water is flowing normally or if there is an anomaly. As with snow sensors, preventive alerts are sent to signal that maintenance may be required.
