About TENT Ministries

Jason Ayala and Elisabetta DiStefano co-founded TENT Ministries, Inc. as a result of witnessing the power Christ's love has in healing and delivering people from vicious cycles of addictions, crime, poverty and abuse. TENT is also an acronym, which stands for, “To Empower Not Tear-down”. Its vision is guided by prophetic faith (Isaiah 54; Matthew 25:35-40) and God’s love to unite the body of Christ in order to care for, equip and empower those who are marginalized and disenfranchised. TENT has been established by way of Jesus Christ’s love and the power of prayer to empower and equip individuals through pastoral care, discipleship, and missional outreach, with the ultimate goal of helping them realize their potential, all the while believing in them whole-heartedly in faith when others may not. In addition, TENT provides the solid system of support necessary to prevent the individuals from falling back into old habits and vicious cycles. TENT is a safe haven not only for those that we care for, but for those who serve along side us. While focusing on the needs of those who are hurting, we simultaneously tend to our volunteers, partners, and community to assure they are excelling in the things that God has called them to do. We believe that united we are able to accomplish much more, not only for New York City but also for the world. To that end, TENT will actively seek to partner with other organizations and agencies in order to better serve the community at large.
