TETRA Ireland operates The National Digital Radio Service (NDRS) providing a secure national communications network to Ireland’s Emergency Services and Public Safety agencies. Our management of the NDRS ensures a uniquely resilient and interoperable critical communications platform. TETRA Ireland's products, services & enhancement solutions offer a new way to communicate in a safe and secure environment while ensuring your agency gets the optimum service even in the most demanding situations. It also provides the flexibility needed to fit bespoke agency needs from personal safety to large scale interoperable systems. Background: Established in 2005, Tetra Ireland was awarded preferred bidder status to build, own and operate the National Digital Radio Services Network (NDRS) on behalf of the emergency services and non commercial bodies in 2007. In May 2008, Tetra Ireland signed the 8-10 year contract with the Department of Finance and commenced the build of the network. The Dublin network was built in March 2009, and the first users, An Garda Siochana, joined the NDRS in Dublin in June 2009. The nationwide NDRS rollout was completed on the 15th of October 2010 and now has over 16,000 users live on the network.
